The children of the sea belong to the sea

Soon I'll have to leave Koh Yao Yai so taking kids to the beach has become a routine. Kids are happy at the beach and I'm happy that the kids are happy so I make it my mission to take them to the beach as often as I could before I'm gone.

Things to do at Loh Pa Red Beach

In the morning we learned about body parts. There are some new students coming today which made me happy that more kids want to learn.
After learning about body parts with question like How do you call armpit's hair? how to you call ass in English? What about people with no hair?. Then, they want to go and learn something more at the beach as well as swimming afterward. I can't resist or say no to them since I know full well that taking them to the beach would make them happy. I gave them a small notebook-like folded paper and told them to draw and write some words about things we can do Loh Pa Red beach. Many kids today so I had to take them 3 on my motorbike for 3 rounds just to take them all at the beach and 3 more rounds back. We had a blast swimming with so many kids from the same school. But next week they are going to take the final exam so the school do not allow to swim to prevent them for being sick before taking an important exam.

Let's swim at Loh Pa Red

Most of the kids I taught are in the 5th grade and they have this big examination coming so they went to school on sunday to prepare for it. So, only 4 kids came today and they wanted to colour something. Since most of other kids are not here they said they can wait to learn the next lesson together and don't want to go ahead without their peers. well, they could do some persuasion and I just want them to have a good time. We then drew, coloured and read some vocabs. Before noon which is the perfect time to swim, I took them to the beach where some kids are already swimming.

The Postcard project

I used to use postcrossing for myself but gave it up a long while then with the English teaching I thought it would be fun and surprise for the kids, so recently I've been using it to get some postcard from abroad to teach English for them.
They had a great time drawing, coloring and writing. I hope it will make them happy once they received it from mail delivery.

Postcards received from postcrossing. they love to see snow very much.

I'm a candidate number... Please Vote for me

It's been postponed for a big long while and finally with the Bangkok's governor election. Here, at Ban Tha Rua, we finally got together to vote. It was fun and Nuva ( 5 years old little one in blue dress) joined us and made it more fun.

Agif and Nuva

I was at the local coffee shop like always then Agif and Nuva came to the shop. Agif missed school because he had a fever. Nuva missed school because Agif didn't go and she's always too lazy to take a bath and go to school. I have some angry birds for coloring left and thought it will be fun for them so I gave them to color it. then when a postcard from postcrossing arrived they curious and love it because it has a coin on the back side it. This was a nice day and with activities we did together I'm not sure if they really did not go to school after all.

nice postcard with colorful stamps.

Can... and a meal to say thanks

Today we talk about "Can" and I gave them worksheet with pictures of animal for them to fill the blank of what can those animal can do. Then I asked them to draw their friends and wrote what they can do which is anything such as swimming, running, walking, crying, singing, floating, eating a lot, and flying. Then we went to have a little picnic again.
Beside teaching kids today on the afternoon some of the kids parents cook food and we ate together. It's a kind of farewell party and a thank you for me to help their kids learn English.
